When should I take Locid?

Locid is an antacid that provides relief from acidity and symptoms such as heartburn associated with it. Some symptoms are gas in stomach, heartburn and discomfort in the stomach. Some of the more severe symptoms are peptic ulcer, gastritis, oesophagitis, hiatus hernia and other dyspeptic conditions associated with hyperacidity. Whenever you are experiencing any of these, you should use Locid.

What flavors is Locid available in?

Locid is available in spearmint flavour to tingle your taste buds.

Can I take Locid if I have stomach pain?

Stomach pain can be a result of various underlying causes. If some of the symptoms of your stomach pain are indigestion, heartburn or gas then Locid can be taken. If you are unsure of the symptoms, then please consult your doctor to diagnose more effectively.

Can I take Locid if I am Pregnant?

Pregnancy is a delicate life-stage and it is important to talk to your doctor before taking any medication to treat acidity during pregnancy.

What is the dose for taking Locid?

Adults: 1 to 2 teaspoonful 30 to 60 minutes after each meal or whenever symptoms are prominent. Not recommended in Children.

What are antacids and how do they work?

Antacids neutralize the excess stomach acid and relieve acidity (acid reflux), indigestion and heartburn.

Why does the stomach produce gastric acid?

The stomach needs gastric acid to help break down food and nutrients prior to full digestion in the intestinal tract.

What is a safe duration to keep taking antacids?

If you experience frequent and persistent acidity, heartburn, acid reflux or any other symptoms of discomfort in the stomach, please consult your doctor.

Can smoking aggravate heartburn?

Cigarettes contain nicotine. Nicotine is responsible in relaxing the ring of muscle around the food pipe that keeps gastric acid in the stomach. When this ring relaxes, stomach acid can move upwards in the food pipe till the throat and mouth causing acid reflux and heartburn.

Why does coffee cause acidity?

Coffee and caffeinated drinks are highly acidic stimulating the stomach to secrete excess acid. This may lead to acidity and symptoms such as a burning sensation and discomfort in the chest i.e. heartburn.
